Do you want to be a part of a bi-cultural Alcohol and Drug Treatment service delivered in partnership with Serco within the Auckland South Corrections facility?

We are seeking a talented Assistant Clinical Manager to support the Clinical Manager as second in charge in delivering effective AOD services and programmes at Auckland South Prison. 

The role includes helping to lead a multi-disciplinary team that provides a 6–12 month bi-cultural therapeutic community programme for up to 60 men. We are looking for a capable people leader and experienced clinician who can guide the team and ensure high-quality bi-cultural treatment support for tāngata whai ora experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges.

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • 3-4 years relevant experience, including experience in a senior AOD role delivering or managing clinical programmes in alcohol and drug rehabilitation, preferably within a prison environment. 
  • A relevant level 7 qualification (degree level) e.g. Bachelors in AOD, Health Science, Nursing, Psychology
  • Registration with DAPAANZ, Social Work or other professional body under the HPCA Act 
  • A willingness to embrace a bi cultural treatment approach within a therapeutic community environment 
  • Interest in and demonstrated knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural norms
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with others, including clients/tāngata whai ora
  • Self-motivated and a positive attitude
  • Advanced Skills in individual and group therapy
  • Strong communication skills and clear, concise writing skills
  • Experience of leading individuals or teams to achieve high performance
  • High regard for confidentiality and security, including client information
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Experience of working in a Corrections setting and good counselling skills are highly desirable
  • A full, clean NZ driver’s license

In return we offer:

  • A salary between $90,168 to $99,652 depending on registration and experience 
  • Includes a $2000 annual location allowance
