Working alongside the Alcohol and other Drugs Treatment Court (AODTC) the AODTC team at Odyssey has supported hundreds of participants through their recovery journeys. We are now seeking a full-time permanent Employment Specialist, working Monday to Friday, to join our dedicated team. 

The key purpose of this role is to assist AODTC participants to connect with training, education and employment opportunities through the provision of education, employment and social skills support. 

Ideally you will have:

  • 1-2 year’s relevant work experience, including experience of working with people to help develop their skills, maintain vocational goals and/or gain employment.
  • Experience in networking and building relationships within the community, particularly with employers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in facilitating groups.
  • An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its relevance to this role.
  • Full Current New Zealand Drivers Licence.
  • And most importantly, a passion for supporting people to make positive changes in their lives.

In return, we can offer you:

  • A salary between $67,000 - $78,000 depending on skills and experience. 
  • A $2000 per annum location allowance on top of your salary.
  • 22 days annual leave and an annual meal allowance.
  • 5 days paid study leave.
