The Te Wairua (co-existing disorders) service provides comprehensive clinical assistance using a modified “Therapeutic Community” approach and works in partnership with people living with mental health challenges, alcohol and drug dependency.

We are currently seeking two Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinicians to join our residential team based in Managere East, next to Middlemore Hospital. The two available roles are rostered to work the following hours: 

Role 1

  • Tuesday 1pm to 9pm
  • Wednesday 1pm to 9pm
  • Thursday 9am to 5pm
  • Friday 7am to 3pm
  • Saturday 7am to 3pm

Role 2

  • Sunday 7am to 3pm
  • Monday 1pm to 9pm
  • Tuesday 1pm to 9pm
  • Wednesday 7am to 3pm
  • Thursday 9am to 5pm

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • Up to 1 years’ experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social-services, addictions and/or mental health setting 
  • Relevant Level 7 qualification e.g.  in health science, social work, counselling or mental health
  • An interest in working towards registration as an AOD Practitioner
  • A willingness to learn about and embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model
  • Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural norms
  • Some skills in group and individual therapy
  • Great communication and relationship management skills
  • A full, clean NZ drivers license

In return we offer:

  • A salary between $67,225 and $77,272 depending on skills and experience
  • An annual allowance of $2500 for working rostered evening and weekend shifts, 22 days annual leave and 5 days study leave per year
