We’re on the lookout for a passionate Mental Health / Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician to join our close-knit residential team in Royal Oak. If you're keen to be part of something meaningful and love the idea of working alongside others who care deeply about the mahi—we want to hear from you.

Using a modified “Therapeutic Community” approach you’ll be providing clinical support and guidance to tāngata whai ora (people seeking wellness), helping them navigate their recovery journey in a safe, structured and culturally supportive environment.

This role is rostered from Tuesday to Saturday working the following hours:

Tuesday 1:15pm to 9:15pm
Wednesday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Friday 6.45am – 2.45am
Saturday 7.45am – 3.45am

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • Up to 1 years’ experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social-services, addictions and/or mental health setting 
  • Relevant Level 7 qualification e.g.  in health science, social work, counselling or mental health
  • An interest in working towards registration as an AOD Practitioner
  • A willingness to learn about and embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model
  • Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural norms
  • Some skills in group and individual therapy
  • Great communication and relationship management skills
  • A full, clean NZ drivers license

In return we offer:

  • A salary between $69,076 and $79,393 depending on skills and experience
  • An annual allowance of $2500 for working rostered evening and weekend shifts, 22 days annual leave and 5 days study leave per year
