Practitioner
We are looking for a full-time, permanent Practitioner to join our Family Centre team. We’re seeking someone with strong problem-solving and people skills who is passionate about supporting tāngata whai ora (people seeking wellness) on their journey towards wellbeing and positive change.
Based in a welcoming 10-bed residential treatment facility surrounded by park-like grounds, you’ll work alongside parents experiencing addiction challenges, supporting them and their tamariki while they live together at our centre. Working closely with the Clinical Manager, you will be responsible for providing clinical assessment, treatment and support to tāngata whai ora.

The work is rostered and will include at least one evening and weekend shift as follows:
Sunday 7.45am - 3.45pm
Monday 7.45am - 3.45pm
Tuesday 2.15pm-10.15pm
Wednesday 1.00pm-9.00pm
Thursday 7.45am-3.45pm
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Up to 1 years’ experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social services, addictions and/or mental health setting.
- A relevant tertiary qualification e.g. Bachelor of Social Work, Health Science, OT, Psychology or post-graduate diploma/certificate in AOD
- Ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
- A willingness to embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) method of treatment
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Māori tikanga and Pacific culture and customs
- A full NZ driver’s license
