Then we have the perfect job for you! E Ara E is an innovative vocational support service for rangatahi aged 18-24 years, living in the Auckland region. Delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development, the service is based on the internationally recognised and evidence-based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model and focuses on supporting rangatahi living with mild to moderate mental health challenges to overcome barriers to employment or training.

We are now looking for a mental health professional to fill our vacant Senior Wellbeing Practitioner role. You will be joining our team of clinical, employment and peer specialists based in New Lynn. You will be working in partnership with rangatahi, to support them to manage their wellbeing while on their chosen work or study pathways.

A key part of this role is to provide clinical assistance, guidance, and training to team members based on best practice, that is effective, of high quality, and meets the needs of the young people engaging with the service. 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to engage and motivate rangatihi and build relationships with a range of stakeholders 
  • At least two year’s relevant work experience gained in the mental health, addictions or social services sectors, including experience working with youth 
  • A sound knowledge of mental health issues and ability to identify cognitive and behavioural patterns 
  • A relevant (L7) qualification e.g. in Social Work, Youth Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy 
  • Experience of training and developing others
  • Commitment to achieve or working towards registration with a relevant professional body e.g. DAPAANZ, HPCA or Social Work, or a commitment to gaining registration
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and how to apply to your own professional practice
  • A full, current New Zealand Driver’s Licence
